Take one charismatic restaurant manager, mix in an up-and- coming chef and add a dash of Rick Stein to create the perfect Chiswick brasserie.

The menus at Sam's feature everything from light salads to serious roasts, and therefore appeal to everyone from local office workers to parents with children. The emphasis is on affordability and flexibility - there is no minimum spend, and people are encouraged to visit Sam's Brasserie for everything from breakfast or a light snack and coffee, to drinks with friends or a full three course meal with wines. Breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch and children's menus are also available.
Typical dishes on the à la carte menu include Buffalo Mozzarella and Vine-Ripened Tomatoes, Leek and Beenleigh Blue Cheese Tartlet, Chicken, Pistachio and Serrano Ham Terrine with a Red Onion Marmalade, Crisp Sea Bass, Purple Sprouting Broccoli, Spaghetti Nero and a Saffron Butter, Roast Lamb Rump, Warm Couscous Salad, Carrot Puree and Sweet Potato, Goats Cheese and Spinach Crumble with a Tomato Sauce, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Toffee Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate and Prune Terrine with a Vanilla Cream and Belgian Waffle, Hot Bananas and Toffee Sauce.
Staff are ludicrously friendly, and owner Sam Harrison wanders around, filling wine glasses and dispensing bread and chit-chat...
The wine list is huge and food simple but stunning.- Class
