how we treat service charge at Sam's & Harrison's

Our operation and service is based around team work and working together to deliver the highest standards of food and customer service. We believe that everyone should be involved in this – all the Front of House team as well as the Kitchen team behind the scenes.

All our staff are paid at least the National Minimum Wage. Service charge is available for distribution between all employees, both Front of House and Kitchen, subject to a small deduction for administrative and other house costs. It is then distributed at the discretion of an independent member of staff to employees at the restaurant through the company's payroll system on a monthly basis.

The small deduction covers the cost of our credit card fees, payroll processing costs and other direct house/ admin costs.

Any tips paid in cash are not subject to any deduction for administrative costs. It is the responsibility of those receiving cash tips to declare the income for tax purposes to HM Revenue & Customs. The company does not participate or interfere in any aspect of cash tips.
